V čom sa líšila kampaň Progresívneho Slovenska od Trumpovej?

Možno ste v posledných dňoch videli dokument na Netflixe, „The Great Hack“. Opisoval pozadie a fungovanie spoločnosti Cambridge Analytica, ktorá stála najprv za Brexitom a neskôr za Trumpovou kampaňou. V celom dokumente sa to hemží slovami ako „datamining“, „psychometria“, „microtargeting“, avšak bez toho, aby bolo hlbšie vysvetlené, ako takáto kampaň mohla fungovať v praxi.

Kto z nových poslancov EP minul na facebookovú reklamu najviac?

Facebook nedávno spustil knižnicu politických reklám, ktorá zahŕňa aj všetky sponzorované príspevky politických strán, jednotlivých politikov a stránok, ktoré šíria politický obsah. Keďže tieto dáta umožňujú unikátny pohľad na to, ako slovenskí politici využívajú Facebook, stiahli sme si celú databázu a trocha sa v nej pohrabali. V prvej časti sme sa pozreli na politické strany, teraz sa bližšie zameriame na nových europoslancov.

PR needs a radical change in transparency

Public relations is one of the most mysterious industries. People working in communications are considered to be pulling the strings behind the curtain, trying to influence the media and their stories. The problem is that this image of the industry is well deserved. Working in PR for nearly 10 years I have to admit, that we haven’t done anything to change our bad reputation in the last few decades.

Facebook nedávno spustil knižnicu politických reklám, ktorá zahŕňa aj všetky sponzorované príspevky politických strán, jednotlivých politikov a stránok, ktoré šíria politický obsah. Keďže tieto dáta umožňujú unikátny pohľad na to, ako slovenskí politici využívajú Facebook, stiahli sme si celú databázu a trocha sa v nej pohrabali. V prvom blogu sa pozrieme na politické strany a konkrétne zvláštny prístup Smeru k facebookovej reklame.

Do companies really need social media profiles?

Nowadays, it is not an easy task to find a business without a Facebook, Instagram or Linkedin fanpage. For most companies, using a social media platform is a must, a thing superior to any other way of communication and solution for every customer related issue. The idea behind being visible on social networks is very simple – since all of our customers or potential clients use them, we must be present there as well.

3 things PR should take from marketing

In general, marketing is considered to be hard sale oriented, while PR is focused more on soft issues – e.g. a brand’s reputation and reach. Both disciplines use different tools and procedures as well. Marketing works with exact goals, target groups and various channels, whereas the Public Relations field is still based on intuition and lacks hard data and measurements.

3 ways to do PR better

Regular meetings with a medium sized PR firm were all about one thing. They reported clearly arranged and printed clippings mentioning our real estate project. If a project had more than just a couple of clippings and at least one of them was issued in a nationwide media outlet, the current month was considered a success. In less successful months we had to be satisfied with articles on obscure websites nobody had ever heard of.
